Welcome Summer and hello Friday! As the first official day, I’m sharing the cocktail #ChefAdrian has been making on repeat so you can sip and savor all the sunny days ahead!

Have you had a traditional daiquiri cocktail? Not the frozen nightmare from all-inclusive’s, but a real, fresh daiquiri shaken, chilled and served in a coupe glass. It’s delicious. And refreshing. Now, take the traditional ingredients and add two more: grapefruit juice and Maraschino Liqueur. I give you, the Hemingway Daiquiri. It’s basically replaced our Moscow Mules and goes down way to quick. Sweet, sour and unbelievably tropical, it’s all we crave in the hot, hot heat.

For our twist, we use the cherry juice from the marinated cherries we get from #ChefAdrian’s mom and use extra lime, along with it as our garnish instead of a slice of grapefruit. We also always drink over crushed ice and served in a tall glass for extra sipping.

Here’s what you need to make it yourself:

  • 2 oz white rum (Havana Club is our favorite!)
  • 3/4 oz fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice
  • 1/2 oz fresh-squeezed lime juice.
  • 1/4 oz Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur or fresh-squeezed cherry juice
  • 1/4 oz simple syrup 1:1.
  • Garnish with a grapefruit twist or lime (like us!)

Shake all ingredients and pour over ice and you are good to go!
