How is it Thanksgiving next week? I feel like we moved, Halloweened and now we’re giving thanks before I could blink. Time is moving way too quickly, but there is just too much to be thankful for this year, so in the spirit of playing catchup, I’m dressing up with one of my favorite prints for Fall.  Continue Reading

Cheers! #ChefAdrian, #SassySofie and I have officially been in Charleston for one month today! My oh my how time flies! This also means I’ve been at my new job for one month, #SassySofie and #FrankieTheFrenchie have been frolicking for 30 days and #ChefAdrian has made the most delicious meals almost every night. But what we’ve really taken advantage of is the amazing Happy Hour specials Charleston has in abundance– several more options than Chicago! Over our one month, we’ve discovered quite a few, so here’s to my first post as a Charlestonian featuring our favorites spots to sit and sip.

I’ve been talking about the harmful effects of blue light caused by overexposure to screens for quite some time now, but with recent studies surfacing almost weekly, I turned to my amazing friend and Optometrist, Dr. Danielle Jin for more reasons we all should be taking more serious precautions to help save our eyesight in this digital age. From my Instagram post, I said I have the ultimate blogging tool– and I wasn’t joking. Computer glasses are 100% necessary for any blogger. But they go beyond just bloggers–they should be worn by everyone on their phone, computer and even watching TV for long lengths of time. Sound familiar? That’s because the general population spends about 10 hours in front of a screen in one day. Y’all this is not a drill, this is a PSA. Continue Reading

It’s my favorite time of year again– when the seasons change and so does my wardrobe! While we’re in the midst of packing up our lives and heading to Charleston, I’m planning for a much warmer Fall and injecting a little bit of the South in my Fall wardrobe additions.

I’m currently interviewing in Charleston and nothing makes me feel more confident than when I love my outfit and feel amazing in it! The last thing anyone should be thinking about when preparing and walking into an interview is: “Do I look okay?”. So, I’m sharing my current outfits I’m interviewing in for this season that are far from a blazer, black pants or pencil skirt that is totally appropriate, but fashion forward, perfect for all body types and will be sure to get you a compliment by your future employers (worked for me!).

I’ll be honest, this post has taken me some time to write. It’s been several weeks in the making, but I truly needed to get my thoughts together with so many different feelings swirling around– which is to be expected when you’re world gets turned upside-down. Continue Reading

Last week, Mama Kim was staying with us in Chicago and we had quite the time exploring and dining around town! One of my favorite things we did was explore all the amazingness that was Refinery29’s 29Rooms, their annual funhouse of style, culture and creativity.

Mama Kim came in from Charleston for a week of fun in Chicago! It could not have come at a more perfect time to take full advantage of #SummertimeChi and I was so excited to spend time at home with her. Along with all the excitement, it’s also great to give the house a nice deep clean and put the finishing touches on our guest room. With all the preparation needed to put in place, I’ve gathered my pro tips together on how to plan for a houseguest (and pics of our guest room!).

Big news, friends! I’ve started training for an Olympic-Distance Triathlon Swim! Officially kicked off the Summer in a super productive way. I’ll be starting a new series on The TMI Blog called From Lane 8 (thanks #ChefAdrian!) to log my progress up until the big swim in week 12. I’ve also designed a super helpful guide if you’re looking to step up your swimming game!
